UKI is a viral performance, viral game and an interruptive cinema conceived by Shu Lea Cheang in 2009.
Between 2009-2016, UKI was developed with collaborations and residencies at
HangarBCN [artistas residentes] (Barcelona, Spain), Medialab Prado [Playlab] & [Desvisulizar](Madrid, Spain),
LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial [Plataforma Cero] (Gijón n, Spain) and
Imaginarium [residency] (Tourcoing, France). In 2016-2017, joined by producer Isabelle Arvers/Kareron, UKI received funds from la création multimédia et numérique (DICRéAM)
of CNC (Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée) in France for its development as a scifi interruptive cinema.
